Why hot wax for a Hollywood
The intimate area is one of the most delicate places to wax, which is precisely why we use a premium hot wax here. Unlike strip wax, hot wax is applied warm, allowed to set and then lifted away without a paper strip. As it cools it shrinks around each hair and grips the hair itself rather than clinging to the surrounding skin, so the experience tends to feel more comfortable and controlled in sensitive areas.
Because hot wax wraps around even short, coarse or stubborn hairs, it lifts them cleanly from the root in a single, confident movement. The result is a closer, more even finish across the whole area, with fewer passes needed over the same patch of skin.
With regular waxing, many clients notice that regrowth comes back softer and finer over time, and that the smooth result lasts considerably longer than shaving. Every appointment is carried out with genuine discretion and care, so you can relax and feel completely at ease.
How it works
Your therapist applies the warm premium wax in small, manageable sections, working methodically across the intimate area. The wax is left for a few seconds to set firmly around the hair, then removed swiftly by hand in the direction that lifts each hair from the root.
Throughout, your comfort and dignity lead the appointment. You will be guided on positioning, kept covered wherever possible and talked through each step, so you always know what is happening and feel respected and at ease.
Your appointment, step by step
From the moment you arrive to the final soothing touch, every stage is handled calmly and professionally in a private treatment room.
- We welcome you, talk through what a Hollywood involves, answer any questions and confirm there are no reasons to postpone, such as recent sunburn or broken skin.
- You are shown to a private room to undress from the waist down and settle comfortably on the couch, with a towel provided for cover.
- The area is cleansed and lightly prepared so the wax adheres only to the hair and works as effectively as possible.
- Premium hot wax is applied in small sections, left to set, then lifted away by hand, working steadily across the front, back and in between until the area is completely smooth.
- Any stray hairs are tidied and the skin is checked over to ensure an even, thorough finish.
- A calming, soothing product is applied to comfort the skin, and you are given clear aftercare guidance before you leave.
In the treatment room
You can expect a private, warm and entirely judgement-free space. The wax feels pleasantly warm as it goes on, and removal brings a brief, sharp sensation that fades quickly. Most clients find this eases considerably after the first few sections as the area settles.
Your therapist works at a steady, reassuring pace, keeping you covered where possible and checking in throughout. If you ever need a short pause, simply say so. Mild redness or warmth immediately afterwards is normal and usually settles within a few hours.
What to expect afterwards
A smooth, hair-free finish that lasts far longer than shaving, with softer regrowth over time when you wax regularly.
- Straight away: completely smooth skin, with some normal redness or warmth that calms within a few hours
- First few days: the area feels soft and clear, with no stubble or shaving rash
- Around two to four weeks: fine regrowth gradually begins to appear

Caring for your skin afterwards
A little gentle care in the first day or two keeps skin calm and helps you get the best from your wax.
- Avoid hot baths, saunas, steam rooms and swimming for 24 hours
- Skip intense exercise and anything that causes heavy sweating for the first day
- Wear loose, breathable underwear and clothing to reduce friction while skin settles
- Avoid perfumed products, self-tan and exfoliation on the area for 24 to 48 hours
- From a few days later, exfoliate gently and moisturise to help prevent ingrown hairs
- Allow hair to grow to roughly a quarter of an inch before your next appointment for the best results
Safety and suitability
A patch test is not required for this treatment. However, please let your therapist know if you have sensitive skin, any skin conditions, allergies, or if you are taking medication such as retinoids that can make skin more delicate. We will not wax over broken, irritated or sunburnt skin, or skin that has been recently exfoliated with active acids.
If you are pregnant you are very welcome, though do mention it so we can position you comfortably. Waxing is best avoided during the most sensitive days of your cycle, and on areas affected by active infections or recent cosmetic procedures.
