The Pure Complexion Clearing Facial works by thoroughly cleansing and decongesting the skin, gently lifting away the build-up of oil, dead cells and impurities that contribute to blocked pores and breakouts. Using ClinicCare products selected for clarifying and balancing the complexion, your therapist exfoliates, performs careful extractions where appropriate, and applies a treatment mask suited to your skin.
Each stage is adapted to your skin's condition, so a more reactive complexion is handled with extra care while congested areas receive more focused attention. The aim is a complexion that looks clearer and more even, and feels clean, comfortable and rebalanced.
Your treatment, step by step
From the moment you arrive, every stage is paced for comfort and tailored to your skin. Here's what a typical 60-minute appointment looks like.
- Consultation and skin analysis — your therapist discusses your skin concerns, lifestyle and any current routine, then examines your complexion to tailor the treatment.
- Double cleanse — a thorough two-step cleanse removes make-up, sunscreen, oil and daily build-up to prepare the skin.
- Exfoliation — a clarifying exfoliation lifts away dead surface cells and helps decongest blocked pores.
- Gentle extractions — where suitable, careful manual extractions clear visible congestion and blackheads to leave the skin looking clearer.
- Treatment mask and massage — a clarifying ClinicCare mask is applied, often alongside a relaxing facial massage to soothe and rebalance.
- Hydration and protection — the facial finishes with a suitable serum, moisturiser and daytime SPF, plus personalised aftercare advice.

Looking after your skin

- Apply a broad-spectrum SPF daily and limit direct sun exposure for a few days.
- Avoid heat treatments such as saunas, steam rooms and hot workouts for 24 hours.
- Hold off on strong actives like retinol or acids for 24 to 48 hours unless advised otherwise.
- Keep the skin hydrated and follow the homecare advice your therapist recommends.
Safety and suitability
This facial is suitable for all skin types and does not require a patch test. To keep your treatment safe and comfortable, please tell your therapist about any allergies, sensitivities, recent treatments or medications during your consultation, as some skincare ingredients and acne medications can affect how your skin responds.
If you have active or severe cystic acne, broken or inflamed skin, an active cold sore, recent sunburn, or are using prescription retinoids such as Roaccutane, please let us know in advance — we may adjust the treatment or recommend waiting. If you are pregnant or have a medical skin condition, mention this so we can tailor the facial appropriately.
